Patient’s Rights
- Patients have the right to obtain information on the Rules and Regulations of SHLV.
- Patients have the right to be treated humanly, fairly, and honestly.
- Patients have the right to obtain quality medical services according to the doctor's/dentist's professional standards without any discrimination.
- Patients have the right to obtain nursing care according to professional nursing standards.
- Patients have the right for service where doctors can freely convey their clinical and ethical opinions without the influence of other parties.
- Patients have the right to consult other doctors on the hospital's list for second opinions on their disease, with their current doctor's knowledge.
- Patients have the right of having their medical data kept private and confidential.
- Patients have the right to obtain information regarding their health problems, such as: medical actions to be
taken, outcome possibilities of that action and the way of dealing with it, therapy alternatives, prognosis and estimated service cost.
- Patients have the right to give permission to the doctor for the action to be taken regarding their health condition.
- Patients have the right, after obtaining thorough information on their condition, to refuse doctor's advice to do an action regarding their condition and to terminate service at their own risk.
- Patients have the right to be accompanied by their family in critical stages of their condition.
- Patients have the right to worship according to their religion/beliefs as long as the activities do not interrupt other patients.
- Patients have the right of security and safety during hospital care.
- Patients have the right to communicate ideas, suggestions and comments to improve the hospital's service.
- Patients have the right to accept or refuse moral or spiritual counseling.
Patient’s Obligations
- Patients and families are obligated to follow the rules and regulations of SHLV.
- Patients are obligated to follow the doctors' and nurses' instructions during their hospital care.
- Patients are obligated to provide thorough information on their health condition to the doctor in charge.
- Patients and or their endorsers are obligated to complete payments on every service performed by SHLV/doctor.
- Patients and their endorser are obligated to act according to the agreements they have signed.
Speak Up
Suggest, ask and communicate your thoughts. You have
the right to understand thoroughly about your health
condition.
Pay attention on every medical action done to you. Make
sure you get the right medical service done by professional
medical team.
Evaluate the diagnosis of your disease, the medical tests
about to be taken and the action that your doctor plans
to perform. Communicate with your doctor.
A trusted friend or member of the family can be your
condant.
Keep track closely of prescribed medications. Errors in
medication preparations may happen. Therefore
understand the use and purpose of the medications you
are taking
Understand that you are the main focus in our medical
care team.
Please get involved in every decision made regarding your
health condition.
Each party has a role in the efforts to obtain safe
medical care actions - this includes doctors, hospital
management, nurses, medical staff and social workers.
SHLV puts every effort needed to prioritize health care
safety. You, as the patient, can also play a vital part in
making sure that the medical actions you go through
are safe by participating actively, getting involved and
not hesitating to obtain information from your medical
team.
