MRCCC "Building of Hope" Signs MOU with Varian – World Leaders in Cancer Equipment

Jakarta, 12 September 2008 – The Mochtar Riady Comprehensive Cancer Centre (MRCCC), Indonesia’s First Private Cancer Treatment Centre with
state-of-the-art equipment, has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with USA-based Varian Medical Systems (NYSE: VAR) for the installation of Indonesia’s first Varian linear accelerators with On-Board Imager® kV imaging systems. The On-Board Imager makes it possible for
doctors to offer patients Dynamic Targeting® IGRT (image-guided radiotherapy), an extremely precise form of treatment that utilizes multiple
imaging and motion management techniques for ultra-accurate tumour targeting. The MOU signing was attended by Mr. Soerjadi Soedirdja, Mr.
Farid Harijanto and Mr Eddy Sindoro from the Board of Commissioners of PT Lippo Karawaci, dr Grace Frelita, Chief Operating Medical Officer Siloam
Hospitals, Prof. Susan Tai President of Mochtar Riady Institute for Nanotechnology, and Mr. Timothy Guertin, CEO Varian Medical Systems.

Jakarta, 23 July 2008 – Mochtar Riady Comprehensive Cancer Centre (MRCCC), Indonesia’s First Private Cancer Treatment Centre with State-of-Art Equipment, has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Belgium-based IBA for the purchase of Indonesia’s first clinical cyclotron to produce isotopes. The MOU signing was attended by DR Mochtar Riady (Founder of the Lippo Group), HE Marc Trenteseau (Belgium Ambassador), Prof. Susan Tai (President of Mochtar Riady Institute for Nanotechnology), dr. Gershu Paul (CEO Siloam Hospitals), and Mr. Olivier Van Der Borght (President of IBA Molecular Equipment).
